Fairmount is hosting its 5th Biannual Health Expo on Thursday, October 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Farm Crest Community Room on the east side of the Fairmount campus. The Expo is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.

Over 30 local health-related enterprises, including nutritional, medical, natural health, rehabilitation, hearing aid, chiropractic, pharmacy, active living, life enrichment, and more, will be represented throughout the day. Some of the day’s highlights include choral renditions by students from several local schools.

Kay Moyer from the Penn State Co-op Extension will be on hand throughout the day with a variety of home and farm safety displays and information on many topics. Flu shots will be available at the K-Mart Pharmacy booth. If you wish to get a flu shot, be prepared to present your Medicare D card, Medicare A & B cards OR $27.00 cash or check.

While browsing and gathering information at the various booths, attendees will be able to have blood pressures checked, participate in Wii games, and place their names in a drawing for prizes. (No need to be present to win.)

Additionally, the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank will be on hand from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. to accept blood donations. Walk-in blood donors are welcome, but anyone preferring to make an appointment to donate blood can do so by calling 717.354.1895 or 1.800.771.0059.
